How do i apply?

1. Fill out the online volunteer application. As a division of the Westport Police Department, we require background checks on all applicants. You will be given background check permission forms once you pass the preassessment.

2. Once you have submitted the Volunteer Membership Application, fill out the Orientation Cohort Google Form below to apply for a training space:

3. Await confirmation of reception of application and further info on the next available orientation cohort.

4. If accepted into an orientation cohort, you will make an appointment for a pre-assessment.

5. Upon successful completion of the pre-assessment, you will continue through the orientation process with your peers on the orientation dates assigned to you.

Due to limited availability of training shifts, all new applicants must join one of our orientation cohorts. Applications will be selected based on the needs of the Service and then first come, first served based on when the paper application was delivered
