Life at WVEMS

Do I have to work on the ambulance?

Membership Benefits

  WVEMS has members operating at all of the Connecticut State EMS levels. We have Volunteer EMT-Paramedics, EMT-Intermediates, EMT-Basics and Medical Response Technicians. We provide CPR, EVOC, EMT Basic and Medical Response Technician training to our active members at no charge. For Advanced Life Support (ALS) training, our members attend training at a local hospital or community college. We provide for our members monthly continuing education as well as basic life support refresher courses.
     
  We drill with other services around the state and participate in the Connecticut EMS Olympics
  We do have a chance to socialize. We come from many walks of life.  
  We are looking for providers at all levels and we are willing to train you at the basic level if you are not currently certified.

Continued membership in good standing requires:
  • Maintaining current certifications
  • Working a minimum of one shift per month or work in a support role
