FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--- SPECIAL TO CONNECTICUT MEDIA.

Fourteen members of Westport Volunteer EMS attended an EMS Conference which was recently held in Cromwell Connecticut.  The conference, “A Challenged System” was presented by Emergency Medical Services Educational Seminars Foundation in an effort to provide the highest quality of continuing education available for individuals who provide emergency medical services. The conference staff, who are all volunteers, were able to present 98 lectures for those working at all levels of the EMS system with faculty not only from local services but from across the country. Training tracks included administrative/management, clinical/medical and instructor/educator development. Keeping in tune with today’s headlines, other courses reviewed patient care, incident management, and the protection of rescue personnel in a terrorist incident.

The conference attendees shall be sharing their new, diverse range of topics and studies with other WVEMS members, to ever improve the quality of care provided to those calling 911 in times of accident or illness. Those at the conference included Barbara Babash, Collin Carroll, Michelle Gospic, Sandi MacPherson, Jay Paretzky, Donna Patchen, Eric Reiner, Pat Salvo, Anthony Santo, Max Spitzer, Alan Stolz, Alexis Takahashi, April Yoder and Alan Yoder
